Ghana’s transportation sector: challenges and emerging opportunities

Ghana’s transport sector is essential to the country’s economic growth, trade, and daily life,
yet it faces a number of long-standing challenges.
Congested urban roads, aging infrastructure, limited public transit options, and rising vehicle
emissions continue to strain the system. In many parts of the country, poor road conditions
and inadequate rural connectivity hamper access to essential services and markets.

electric vehicle adoption, and public-private transport innovations, to the rehabilitation of
railway corridors, aviation upgrades, and digital logistics systems.

areas like infrastructure development, transport technology, green mobility, and urban
planning.
